Bag & Security Policy
The safety and security of our guests and employees is our number one priority. The Dow Event Center seeks to create a safe and secure venue on event and non-event days.
All guests entering The Dow Event Center will go through metal detectors and have their belongings searched. The Dow Event Center staff reserve the right to deny items that may cause damage to the facility or danger/disrupt an event. Guests who violate the Guest Code of Conduct or decline to be searched may be denied entry or ejected from the venue.
Bags Approved for Entry
- Clear bags no larger than 12” x 6” x 12”
- Bags no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” x 2” (do not have to be clear)
- Bags for medical and parenting purposes

- iPads/tablets
- Large/oversized bags (maximum bag size is 12" x 6" x 12" and must be clear)

- Mascot headwear of any kind
- Noisemakers
- Outside food and drink
- Poles
- Projectiles
- Selfie sticks
- Skateboards, scooters, hoverboards or personalized vehicles
- Sticks
- Whistles
- Unapproved bottles or containers
- Unauthorized marketing/soliciting/vending
- Video and audio recording devices (includes Go Pros, Google Glass, Spectacles, etc.)
- Weapons
- Any other item(s) deemed unacceptable by Venue Management
Security
The Dow Event Center utilizes a staff of security officers and police officers in and around the facility, as well as video technology to enhance the safety and security of our guests, clients, and staff. The venue is staffed to meet the needs of the crowd as well as the requirements of the clients.
The Dow Event Center utilizes walk-through metal detectors and wanding at entrance points to enhance safety and security at events.
Prior to entering walk-through metal detectors, guests will be asked to remove cell phones, keys, and other large metal objects and place them in security bins. Do not remove belts, watches, or small jewelry.
Please have all approved bags open and ready for screening.
